Blue Safari Seychelles has signed the UNESCO Sustainable Travel Pledge

At Blue Safari Seychelles we have always been a pioneer when it comes to sustainable tourism. We look forward to setting a trend towards ensuring our future generations can also enjoy the beauty of our planet.

We are proud to announce that we have signed The UNESCO Sustainable Travel Pledge.

About The Pledge

The UNESCO Sustainable Travel Pledge promotes sustainable travel, community resilience and heritage conservation throughout the world.

By signing this pledge, organisations within the travel industry are committing to operating in a responsible and sustainable way through sustainability measures that will ensure that future generations have the same opportunity to enjoy and discover this world's natural beauty as well as encounter its diverse cultures.

By taking the pledge we have committed to do the following:

Community Engagement

Providing opportunities for communities and cultures in which we operate is crucial to sustainable tourism. As part of this Pledge, we will commit to supporting our local community through actions such as sourcing produce locally and hiring local people.

Energy Conservation

Conserving the energy we use will not only help reduce carbon emissions and preserve natural resources but also reduces costs. We shall endeavour to use efficient climate control systems and source renewable energy as part of our Pledge.

Water Conservation

With billions of people living in water-stressed countries worldwide, we must do all we can to manage this precious resource. We will make sure to install water-saving measures as well as manage our water use sustainably.

Waste Reduction

We pledge to implement waste reduction policies, such as recycling or composting our food waste to reduce our waste.

Single-use Plastics Reduction

Approximately five trillion single-use plastic bags are thrown away each year, which then end up in our oceans and cause problems for ecosystems. We are committed to replacing single-use plastics, such as straws and toiletries, with eco-friendly alternatives.

This pledge is vital in taking action that will reduce any environmental impact, raise awareness of the importance of sustainable tourism to travellers and help them make more sustainable travel choices and Blue Safari is proud to now be a part of it.
