Astove Atoll is truly one of the most unique saltwater fly fishing destinations in the world! It is wild, rugged and completely unspoiled. Although Astove brags with the biggest flats-caught GT’s on record, there is a huge variety of other species that one can target on the fly.
Wild, rugged and unspoiled, Astove is for the fly fisherman looking for a saltwater experience unlike any other.
A three-hour flight away from Mahé, including a stop at Alphonse Island to refuel, you will find a remote atoll in the Outer Islands. Upon arrival, orientation and tackle set up begins. Guests have lunch and can then go out for an unguided fishing session on foot before sunset.
Breakfast is served at 07h30, before the day’s fishing starts at 08h30. Anglers will be paired together with another angler to share a skiff and guide. Lunch is taken in the form of a packed lunch which is enjoyed while out on the flats. You will arrive back at the lodge by 17h30, but are free to continue fishing unguided until sunset.
Breakfast will be served from 07h30 onwards. Afterwards, luggage will be collected and guests will settle their bills and gratuities before the three-hour long flight back to Mahé, including a quick stop at Alphonse Island to refuel and stretch your legs.
The pricing for this itinerary is based on a per person rate for one angler in a single room on a sharing skiff. A supplement will apply for a single skiff. A single skiff and private guide is also available at a supplement. All activities mentioned in this itinerary is included in the cost. For more details, please see the What's Included section below.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. Inspiration is drawn from the island and the ocean, and produce is picked fresh from our vegetable garden.
Return flights to Astove Atoll from Mahé are operated on Thursdays and takes 3 hours in total.
Six Days fully guided fly fishing, with 2 anglers per skiff and guide. Single skiffs are available at a supplement.
Coffee and a selection of tea is available at meals, as well as desalinated drinking water.
Fly Fishing rod and reel rental is offered free of charge. Flies and fly line can be purchased from our well-stocked tackle shop or you can bring your own. Rod breakages will be charged accordingly.
Two bottles of house wine (one red and one white) is served on a complimentary basis during dinner.
A complimentary laundry service is offered to guests during their stay.
