Aldabra Giant Tortoises are the oldest living creatures on earth and Aldabra holds the largest natural population.
Both Hawksbill and Green Turtles favor the beaches in the region as nesting grounds.
A total of 188 different species of birds have been recorded in the Outer Islands.

Aldabra Atoll has a rich biodiversity of life thanks to its natural habitats which include a large lagoon, seagrass beds and sandy beaches.
