The sheer abundance and massive size of fish at Alphonse Island needs to be seen to be believed! Here you can relish in being the only divers in the ocean, with few other boats around.
The coral reefs have also shown a greater resilience to climate variations than in the granitic Inner Islands. Our coralline plateaus are therefore densely covered in hard coral and thick forests of gorgonian sea fans. Stunning black coral and sea whips are commonplace on the walls!
The marine life around Alphonse Island really has to be seen to be believed, so why don’t you dive right in?
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by the Alphonse Island management team, followed by check-in and a comprehensive briefing whilst your luggage is transferred to your Beach Bungalow. You can freshen up and enjoy a light lunch or snack and, for early arrivals, possibly do a first check-dive.
Set off for your first double tank dive in the morning. With temperatures at a balmy 25-30oc and excellent visibility reaching up to 50m, you might just be tempted to join a third dive in the afternoon. If not, make the most of the countless other activities that are on offer, many of which are complimentary. Don’t forget to schedule a dawn or night dive to try at least once during your stay, in order to experience the complete Alphonse diving experience.
Today is your last full day on Alphonse, and you will have a single tank dive to end your diving holiday. The rest of the day can be spent snorkelling, paddle boarding, cycling or relaxing on the beach or in the spa. We highly recommend the popular Sailfish or Manta Ray snorkeling excursions!
Soak up the last little bit of paradise with a leisurely breakfast before preparing for departure back to Mahé. Collect your dry scuba gear and say goodbye to the team who, without a doubt, will be good friends by now. Although all good things come to an end, we hope to welcome you back soon.
The pricing for this itinerary is based on a per person rate for 2 people sharing a Beach Bungalow. A single supplement would apply for single occupancy or an upgrade fee for a stay in a Beach Villa. All activities mentioned in this itinerary are included in the cost.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included and prepared with fresh ingredients. Inspiration is drawn from the island and the ocean, and produce is picked fresh from our vegetable garden.
Return flights to Alphonse Island from Mahé are operated on Saturdays, with additional flights on Mondays and Thursdays from mid-November to mid-April.

A bicycle is assigned to each guest for the duration of their stay, to allow for full exploration of the island.

Each week, guests are offered a few luxuries that Alphonse Island has become renowned for such as Sundowners on the Beach and Flats Lunch.
Conservation activities with the Island Conservation Society are conducted at no cost, with only a donation requested.
Fly Fishing rod and reel rental is offered free of charge. Flies and fly line can be purchased from our well-stocked tackle shop or you can bring your own. Rod breakages will be charged accordingly.
Scuba gear rental is offered free of charge with a full setup service.
